Data Storage

All Hank Builds tools work entirely in your browser. Your data is stored locally using localStorage and IndexedDB, and is never sent to or stored on any server. If you clear your browser data, your saved information is gone. There is no cloud backup.

No Accounts

There is no sign-up, no login, and no personal information collected. You don't need an email address or password to use any tool.

Analytics

Hank Builds collects anonymous usage events (such as "button clicked" or "tool used") to understand which features are helpful. Each event records the event name, the page address, the site domain, the address of the page you came from when you arrive from another site, and the two-letter country code your connection arrives from. Both addresses are cut back to the page itself: the query string and anything after the # are dropped before the event is sent, so a link that carries your data in it, such as a shared bill or a shared countdown, never has that part recorded. There are no cookies, no IP addresses, and no identifier of any kind, so events cannot be linked to you or to each other. Events are sent via your browser's sendBeacon API to a first-party endpoint on hank-builds.com and stored in Cloudflare Analytics Engine. If your browser's Do Not Track setting is enabled, no events are sent.

Third-Party Services

The Recipe Scaler and the Data Workbench use a Cloudflare Worker to fetch a URL you paste, on your behalf. The URL is used only to retrieve the content and is not stored or logged.

Several tools suggest equipment related to the task you are doing, such as a kitchen scale in the Recipe Scaler. Those are Amazon affiliate links, labelled as such wherever they appear. They point at a hank-builds.com address that redirects to Amazon and picks the store for your country. That redirect records nothing. If you follow one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

No tracking pixel, product image or third-party script is loaded at any point, so Amazon learns nothing about you unless you choose to click. Beyond the two URL fetchers above, no Hank Builds tool sends your data anywhere.
